Anthony Edwards produced a monstrous dunk of the season as the Minnesota Timberwolves rallied to beat the Utah Jazz 114-104 on the road.

Edwards, who finished with 32 points, took flight in the third quarter, surpassing 6-foot-9 John Collins for a spectacular career moment.

“Oh my God. It’s the best dunk of my career, I’m not going to lie,” Edwards said after the victory, which left Minnesota in second place in the Western Conference at 47-21, one game from leader Oklahoma City (47-20).

“…I couldn’t even react because I dislocated my finger.”

Edwards dislocated a finger on his left hand while performing the dunk while Collins, who was on the receiving end, suffered a head contusion.

UNKNOWN HERO OF THE KNICKS IN WARRIORS WIN

Elsewhere, Jalen Brunson scored 34 points as the New York Knicks earned a wire-to-wire 119-112 road victory over the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco.

The Warriors, fresh off a high win over the Los Angeles Lakers, were still trailing after New York took a 20-6 lead early in the first quarter at Chase Center.

Point guard Brunson pulled the strings superbly to guide a hurting Knicks roster to an impressive victory that keeps them firmly on track for the playoffs.

Brunson received support from Miles McBride, who was an unsung hero as he finished with a career-high 29 points in just his sixth NBA start.

“We continue to find ways to win,” Brunson said afterward.

“Stay calm, stay confident – just stay together. » But the loss was another blow for the erratic Warriors, who are 17-18 at home this season.

Golden State sits in 10th place in the Western Conference – the last of four play-in spots. Stephen Curry led Golden State’s scorers with 27 points.

LAKERS BOUNCE FROM LOSS IN EMPHATIC WAY

In Los Angeles, the Lakers bounced back from the loss to the Warriors with an emphatic 136-105 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.

D’Angelo Russell drained six of 10 three-pointers to finish with 27 points, while LeBron James finished with 25 points and Anthony Davis 22.

The Lakers are ninth in the West with 37-32.

In other Monday games, the Cleveland Cavaliers rallied from a 15-point deficit to earn a 108-103 victory over the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis.

Jarrett Allen and Caris LeVert led the Cavaliers with 23 points each while Cleveland’s defense held Tyrese Haliburton to just 14 points.

Cleveland improved to 43-25 with the win to remain in third place in the Eastern Conference behind the first-place Boston Celtics and second-place Milwaukee Bucks.

CELTIC CRUISE TO VICTORY

The Celtics, leading the Eastern Conference at 54-14, cruised to another routine victory with a 119-94 loss to the Detroit Pistons at TD Garden in Boston.

Jaylen Brown led Boston’s scoring with 31 points in just three quarters, while Derrick White had the first triple-double of his career to finish with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

“I’m not usually one to try and chase stats and stuff,” White said after the win.

“I’ve been close a few times, so I thought, ‘I’ll try to get it this time.’ So congratulations to my teammates for real.

SIXERS DESIGNED TO WORK IN VICTORY OVER THE HEAT

In Philadelphia, Tyrese Maxey finished with 30 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds as the 76ers beat the Miami Heat 98-91.

The Sixers, without an injured Joel Embiid, took control of a close game in the third quarter, outscoring Miami 28-16 to take a 17-point lead.

Although the Heat fought back to tie it in the fourth quarter, the Sixers held on to close out a victory that left them tied with Miami at 37-30.

Sixers coach Nick Nurse said former Philadelphia Heat main Kyle Lowry warned his teammates to expect a fightback from Miami.

“Kyle kept reminding everyone on the bench that they weren’t going to give up even if we had a 17-point lead or whatever,” Nurse said.

“They had a great run and we responded pretty well at the end.”
