Anthony Davis pushed to play again and Monday evening, he obtained his wish.
Davis will return to Mavericks programming on Monday evening when Dallas faces Brooklyn in New York, which Mavericks coach Jason Kidd confirmed the pre-match, adding that Davis was in restriction a few minutes (28). Davis has been released since February 8, when he has held his adductor in his only match as a maiden since the Superb trade that sent it to Texas for Luka Doncic.
Davis had put pressure for this return despite the fact that Kyrie Irving was absent for the season with a torn ACL and Dallas in danger of even slipping from the game (the Mavericks and Suns are currently on a tenth seeded in the West and the last place of play). All the discussions on how Dallas made a mistake with the Dononic trade is probably in progress (even if the frustration of Mavericks fans is not intended in Davis).
Davis displays an average of 25.7 points and 12 rebounds per game while pulling 52.8% of the ground and playing Elite Defense this season – he was on the way to an All -NBA place before the last injury.
If the Mavericks slide further from the image of the playoffs in their last 11 games, even with Davis, it could be pulled to avoid risking injuries (some in the organization argued that it should have happened anyway).
But from Monday evening, Davis is back. That’s what he wanted.
