Angel Reese’s investment brings skincare brand’s funding past $22.6 million

Angel Reese is taking full advantage of her status as one of the WNBA’s most popular stars. One of his main motivations since entering the league two years ago has been to build a strong image off the field and generate wealth. She threw herself headlong into sports and fashion and even created her own foundation.

Reese recently invested in skincare brand Topicals, and his presence boosted its valuation and helped secure $22.6 million in funding. What’s special about this brand is that it’s not your average skincare brand. Topical is a “black-led skincare brand.”

Topicals focuses on treating textured skin and other chronic conditions. But it’s the positive impact this $22.6 million cash infusion could have on the company that is the biggest benefit of Reese’s involvement with the brand.

The majority of Reese’s wealth, estimated at $9.4 million, comes from endorsements and other business assets. Although she hasn’t invested a lot of money, she does have a stake in DC Power FC, a soccer team based in the nation’s capital. Reese is also a brand ambassador for Reebok, McDonald’s and Victoria’s Secret, the latter of which saw her walk the runway in its famous fashion show last year.

Compare that to his WNBA salary, and it’s a huge difference. In 2025, she earned approximately $74,000 from hoops, a figure expected to rise to $82,000 in 2026. But there is currently a lockout in the WNBA and players are demanding a bigger piece of the pie. Considering the impact Reece has off the field, that’s a more than fair ask.
