Angel Reese Landing Spots: Wings, Mystics Main list of potential contenders for Sky Star Originally appeared on Sports news

Angel Reese’s two -year term with Chicago’s sky was marked by rebounds, obstinate defense and losses – many, many losses.

The Chicago striker has become one of the best talents in the League since he entered the League in 2024. But his employers have not built a winning list – or anything close to one.

The Sky posted the worst record of the Eastern Conference in 2025, just as they did in 2024. Their list is moving outside of Reese, a perennial star whose game results in more competitive organizations. The losses that continue to accumulate, the player and the franchise seem to reach a dead end. Reese herself admitted as much by speaking with Chicago Tribune Reporter Julia Poe.

“I am not satisfied with the same S – we did this this year,” said Reese. “We need to get good players. We need to get great players. It is a non -negotiable for me.

“I am very explained about what we need and what I want. I would like to be here for my career, but if things are not going on, I will obviously have to move in a different direction and do what is best for me. But even if I’m here, I will try to stay open -minded about what I have here and maximize this as much as possible. “

We do not know if Chicago can match Reese’s ambitions at this stage of his career. If they can’t, she probably has many contenders in the league.

Here is an overview of four teams that could play for Reese if it is made available for trade in the coming months.

Angel Reese landing popes

Dallas wings

Dallas’ wings have their playmaker for the future in Paige Bueckers. But apart from that, they lack long -term parts. Reese has made serious progress as a hand and secondary playmaker, while continuing to make a presence as a rebounder and defender.

Dallas should separate from certain serious assets to call on Reese, who is still two years under the control of the team. Wings should probably pay capital to land Reese, including potential lottery choices in 2026 and 2027. But his skills are next to Bueckers, an equally gifted bidirectional player who would reduce the burden placed on Reese at both ends of the ground.

Washington mystics

Like Dallas, Washington Mystics is one of the some precious teams that have the capital of resources to make a real race in Reese. The mystics will have three first -round choices in the draft of the WNBA 2026, including a choice of lottery. They also have a crowd of young captivating talents who could encourage the sky to conclude an agreement, including Georgia Amoore, Jade Melbourne and Emily Engstler.

The mystics have quietly raised one of the best young nuclei in the league, with Shakira Austin, Sonia Lemon and Kiki Iriafen presenting themselves all throughout their still burning careers. This reputation must be enchanting for Reese, especially after Chicago withdrew his youth by exchanging lemon rights to DC for Ariel Atkins last year.

Reese knows the region well, having shone for Maryland before transferring to the LSU to the university. She would be close to her her house – The mystics played two games at home in Baltimore in 2025 and be careful in Charm City in the next seasons. Washington is not yet an eliminatory team. But it is not too far either; Before the trade of Brittney Sykes, the mystics were about to compete for a place in the playoffs.

Atlanta Dream

Atlanta’s dream experienced a wonderful campaign in 2025, climbing the Eastern Conference at the top of the Eastern Conference when ALLISHA Gray won as a candidate for the first All-WNBA team. They accumulated an impressive number of all-star caliber players, including Rhyne Howard, Brittney Griner and Brionne Jones.

Atlanta looks certified for long-haul. But you can never have enough talent. Griner’s production has decreased in its 34 -year -old season, suggesting that a change could be in the cards in the area before the dream in good time. Reese, with its prodigious rebound, flashes on ball and defensive chops, seems well equipped to anchor a talented defensive unit like that of the dream. She also has two years of control of the team, offering Atlanta a certain flexibility of additional alignment if it is to allow Griner to walk after the 2025 season.

Seattle storm

The Seattle storm is not exactly the quintessence of stability in the WNBA. In fact, they have treated with great uncertainty in the last two seasons, both on the ground.

There is still a lot of talent in the locker room. Gabby Williams marked his first appearance to the stars in 2025, while Nneka Ogwumike, Skylar Diggins and Ezi Magbegor ranked among the best players in the League to their respective position. Then there is Dominique Malonga, a unicorn of a big who believes could be the best player in the 2025 draft class in a few years.

If Seattle wants to cement its competitor’s place in the future, Reese seems an interesting addition. His defensive flexibility would be well associated with Williams, Magbegor and Jordan Outon, who missed the 2025 season after tearing his ACL. His arrival could also facilitate a transition plan for Ogwumike, which approaches the end of the thirties.
