Andre Agassi has been busy in Melbourne!
The legendary American played a starring role at the inaugural Australian Open opening ceremony.
He, Roger Federer and Ash Barty defeated Lleyton Hewitt and Pat Rafter in an All-Star exhibition match at Rod Laver Arena.

Agassi then stayed for a question-and-answer session with Jim Courier, sharing memories from his time in the West Indies.

He now also takes the time to send a message to a player active on the ATP circuit.
Andre Agassi meets Grigor Dimitrov in Melbourne
Publication on InstagramAgassi shared two photos of himself and Dimitrov.
One, when Dimitrov was young on tour, and the other at this year’s Australian Open.
“Yesterday vs. now, Grigor Dimitrov,” Agassi captioned the post.
“Luckily we learned to wear shirts!”
“I love you, keep pushing.”
Agassi and Dimitrov enjoy a close relationship and the former worked alongside the Bulgarian for some time.
In 2019, Dimitrov shared what it was like to have Agassi with him at the Australian Open.

“For him to sit in my box, spend anything, eight, ten hours a day with me, that’s already a plus,” Dimitrov said.

“I feel like I’m learning so much on and off the field
“Overall, things have been great.”
Dimitrov learned a lot from his time with Agassi, but how did he fare at this year’s Australian Open?
Grigor Dimitrov crashes out in first round of Australian Open
The former world number three had a tough draw in Melbourne and had to face Czech Tomas Machac in the first round.
Machac beat Dimitrov in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3.

Dimitrov is now 1-2 for the season, having defeated Pablo Carreno Busta in his opening match at the Brisbane International before losing to Raphael Collignon in the quarter-finals.

He will now rest before his return to tennis at the Dallas Open.
Several big names are heading to America for the ATP 500 event, including Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz and Casper Ruud.
Only time will tell if Dimitrov can emerge victorious and capture his 10th career title in Dallas.
The 2026 Dallas Open will begin on Monday, February 9.
