Tallahassee, Florida (AP) – Amarr Knox marked a career summit of 32 to help the Alabama State to hold a 67-66 victory against Florida A & M on Monday evening.
Knox made a 3-point with 1:07 to do to give the Alabama State an advance of 66-62. TJ Madlock made the first of the two free throws with 19 seconds to play for a five -point advantage. Shaqir O’Neal followed with a game of four points to get the Florida A&M at a point.
Knox pulled 10 out of 18 on the field, including 3 for 7 from the 3-point beach, and went 9 for 10 of the free throw line for the Hornets (9-13, 5-4 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Madlock totaled 13 points and 11 rebounds. CJ Hines also scored 13.
Sterling Young led the Rattlers (8-12, 5-4) with 21 points. Milton Matthews collected 15 points and Kaleb Washington added nine points and seven rebounds. The defeat ended a sequence of five consecutive victories for the Rattlers.
