Golf journalist Alan Shipnuck recently criticized Justin Thomas in response to an excerpt from his latest book, LIV and Let Die. Shipnuck admitted that he and JT have always had a “strained relationship.”
Although the golf biographer previously responded to the criticism in an interview with The Times, he has now provided additional information on the subject. In a recent conversation with Barstool Sports, Shipnuck, a longtime writer for Sports Illustrated and Golf Magazine, went on to talk about the two-time Major winner.
“Yeah, it’s a little disorienting and it’s obviously not, you know, on a human level it doesn’t feel good,” Shipnuck said.
He also gives a direct response to the American professional golfer’s tweet:
“Justin, you’re going to make more money finishing dead last in a high, no-cut event than anyone on the golf course.”
Furthermore, Shipnuck specifies that Justin Thomas rarely appears in his new book because he finds nothing about his life or career worth telling.
“We always had this strained relationship, like he wasn’t even a character in this book,” he revealed. “He can’t say I’ve already burned him because I’ve never really dealt with him. I’m just giving him a wide berth because I can’t find anything about his life or career worth having. to be told from my point of view.
Justin Thomas is fed up with Alan Shipunck
Earlier this month, when the LIV and Let Die book hadn’t even been released, the rift between players and Shipnuck began to flare.
As some spicy parts emerged from advance copies and an excerpt published by the Fire Pit Collective, Thomas questioned the veracity of Shipnuck’s findings in his book.
Well, a snippet was cited regarding an anonymous Ryder Cup player allegedly blowing up Rory McIlroy on his public stance in the PGA Tour vs. LIV Golf issue.
Justin Thomas wrote on social media:
“I would like to speak on behalf of many Tour players and say that we are tired of @AlanShipnuck doing what he does. Bring positivity and good stories to help grow golf, not try to win money. money bashing guys, gaining zero trust, with lots of incorrect information. Ridiculous.”
Furthermore, Brooks Koepkathe five-time major champion, also jumped into the conversation and wrote:
“And the LIV players.”
Alan Shipnuck has been writing golf news and content for a very long time and has also been part of various controversies so far.
