Well, it was a weekend.
College football delivered again last Saturday with many surprises in the top 10 This caused major changes to the projected playoff field and also left many people wondering who the contenders and contenders are across the country.
Alabama loses to Vanderbilt was the biggest surprise, but Tennessee and Missouri also fell in the SEC as the conference race underwent a major shake-up. Southern California suffered a road loss at Minnesota, raising concerns about Lincoln Riley and how the transition to the Big Ten is going for the Trojans.
Looking ahead to Week 7, there is a major showdown between Ohio State and Oregon this will determine which team is the favorite in the Big Ten. The annual matchup between Oklahoma and Texas in Dallas should be as exciting on the field as the atmosphere at the State Fair of Texas leads SEC action that includes a visit from Ole Miss to LSU and Alabama welcoming South Carolina.
Dan Wolken and Paul Myerberg of USA TODAY Sports discuss these topics and more in this week’s version of the College Football Fix.
