On Tuesday, we started to notice chatting on the Rams that potentially signed the quarter-Arrière Aaron Rodgers. We therefore found it originally to determine if it was rooted in something credible.
It turns out that Adam Schefter d’Espn mentioned it on his podcastwhich mentioned the others.
We will mention it now. From the point of view of Rams, why would they even mention it as a possibility?
Yes, as Schefter said, Rodgers only becomes a possibility if things do not work between Rams and the current starter Matthew Stafford. But if the Rams make a change, it would be to become younger. Why would that want someone who is four years older and, frankly, currently not as good as Stafford?
Maybe all this is part of the clumsy efforts of RAMS to make Stafford more likely to take its best offer. If it is the best they can do, however, Stafford should say, “Go ahead”.
Beyond the fact that Rodgers slips and that Stafford is not, why would RAMs want to register for the experience of Aaron Rodgers? Stafford is exactly the opposite of Rodgers. Stafford is not a guy “everything about me”. Stafford does not feel obliged to complete his weekly press conferences with television appearances of the intimidator and to be randomly turned into unstable scores and conspiracy theories. Hell, beyond the required appearances of the Stafford League, he rarely speaks.
From Rodgers’ point of view, yes, he should want to play for Rams. They have a young team with many big players. They reached the last eight in 2024, and they are the only team (out of four) who gave the Eagles a race for their money in the playoffs.
In addition, Rodgers wanted to return to California. Rams would be an ideal place for him to wrap his career.
But, again, why would the Rams want to do this?
He highlights the biggest problem because the rams and staff continue to have a weird atmosphere between them. If the Rams make a change, they would have a better plan to find someone better than Stafford. In this year’s option harvest, no one stands out as an immediate upgrade.
