We’re reaching the final stages of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, which means March Madness is reaching fever pitch as you read this. The biggest sign that the Final Four is near is when the field is laid out for the big event and that’s exactly what they did at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
If you’re a longtime San Antonio Spurs fan, the color scheme and Fiesta theme of the field design should remind you of the days when the Spurs called the Alamodome their home arena.

It’s always nice to see the teal color scheme in relation to San Antonio basketball, so seeing them adopt this look for the Final Four is a refreshing change. It’s clear they were trying to achieve a festive look for the court and in this case, it’s safe to say they succeeded.
It also continues the Final Four’s strong track record of giving its courts and logos local flavor. This stands in stark contrast to the cookie-cutter model we get with the College Football Playoff and their pitch designs for its championship match.
Personally, I’m happy with how the design of this court turned out, although I would have preferred to see a little more color in the key area of the court. Other than that, it’s a solid, dynamic and eye-catching terrain design.
But what do you think of this concept of the court?
