The Bryce Harper era in Philadelphia has officially begun. In his very first trip to the plate as a Phillie Saturday afternoon against the Blue Jays, Harper was walked before Philadelphia icon Rhys Hoskins brought him home on a walk. Tater absolutely demolished far to the left.
Although Harper’s first at-bat didn’t feature any special fireworks, his walk-in choice of music was the perfect way to introduce himself to the Philadelphia faithful.

To be clear, this wasn’t a lucky moment, Fresh Prince’s iconic tune didn’t appear by chance as Harper walked to the plate. No, it was Bryce’s idea all the way, which is totally awesome. Maybe next time he’ll head over to “Fly Eagles Fly” to really throw Philly into happy chaos.
