Happy Tuesday everyone. As you know, it’s a big night for basketball because they travel to Auburn to face the top-ranked Tigers. Alabama is coming off a blowout win over No. 4 Baylor, but it’s going to be tough.

Nate Oats inadvertently stirred the pot a bit.

And it led to one of those hot topics that this reporter recognized and noted for future use. It wasn’t as provocative in context as it would appear in a standalone quote on Twitter – a lesson learned.

The size of Alabama and Auburn’s basketball venues has been a lightning rod since Auburn Arena debuted in 2010. Its current capacity is 9,121. That’s considerably smaller than the 14,474-seat, 54-year-old Coleman Coliseum.

The mea culpa seems unnecessary. Nate said what he said, and Auburn fans took it however they chose. A bunch of garbage in the mentions is just normal when it comes to this batch.

The NCAA is focused on eliminating fake injuries.

National Civil Servants Coordinator Steve Shaw said Athleticism On Monday, injury simulation will be “an important topic” at the NCAA Football Rules Committee’s next meeting on March 1. This is a rule change year, which means the group can present its recommendations for immediate consideration by the NCAA committee. Game rules monitoring panel.

“Obviously we want to eliminate simulated injuries from the game,” Shaw said. “It’s a bad image of the match. It’s a question of integrity. If you have a fake injury, your team gets an undeserved timeout. We’re really wondering: what’s the next step to move away from this? »

I maintain that a player who is tired and needs to come out is perfectly justified in going to the ground. The offense should not have the ability to trap players on the field, and since we are talking about integrity issues, how about we also discuss teams rushing to get the ball back before the replay can review a questionable play, or before the referees are ready. A ten second buffer, as suggested by Nick Saban a few years ago, makes perfect sense.

Pawwwwl thinks a lot of people want Bill O’Brien’s job.

“I think it’s the most coveted position as an assistant coach in college football and I should be,” Finebaum said Monday on “McElroy and Cubelic In The Morning”. “You have competent players at all levels. You’re at the best college football program and you work for the best coach, so you’re on this national platform.

“And that happens really often. We’ve seen it for years with Bill Belichick. Everyone who worked for Belichick eventually found employment elsewhere. And now it’s the Saban effect. Greg, if you become offensive coordinator, can I be the quarterback coach? This might help me get a better job.

The Tide lost a rookie DL to college.

Bob, a four-star defensive lineman, will be in attendance Hutchinson Community College in Kansas instead and has been enrolled there since Jan. 7, McCullough said. He will stay at the school for “two years to a year and a half” before coming to Alabama, according to McCullough.

He is at school for academic reasons, according to McCullough. He said Alabama always knew Bob would have to attend college before joining the Crimson Tide.

I came across this cool coaching video from Alabama WR coach Holmon Wiggins.

Finally, as you’ve probably heard, Tom Brady officially retired this morning.

He mentions the Buccaneers. He mentions the Tampa fans. He mentions the Glazer family. He mentions general manager Jason Licht. He mentions coach Bruce Arians. He talks about his other coaches in Tampa. He thanks “every Bucs staff and employee.”

This statement isn’t something he flipped through on his iPhone while sitting on the dresser this morning. It has been written, re-written, re-written, read, re-read, re-read and checked by professionals. He said what he wanted to say. He didn’t say what he didn’t want to say.

It can’t be a coincidence that the entire Patriots organization was left out.

It certainly sounds a little salty, doesn’t it?

It’s all for now. Have a nice day.

Rolling tide.
