Football is music to all ears, and literal music to all ears might be good too.
Whether it’s NFL Films’ iconic Sam Spence soundtrack or the network’s various anthems for the Sunday and Monday offerings, NFL fans are no strangers to recognizable music. Amazon is looking to continue the trend with its own theme, with the vast majority of fans being introduced to the theme on Thursday evening.
“Our goal was to create a memorable theme that was both current and timeless,” said composer Pinar Toprak. “We relied on the big brass and muscular energy of the legacy scores, in combination with unique lyrical moments, to create a feeling of heart and spirit.”
Well, consider it mission accomplished for Toprak and Co.

With the Chargers and Chiefs setting the tone for the debut of “Thursday Night Football,” the music may actually have been the real tone-setter.

Composed by Pinar Toprak, the Amazon Prime “Thursday Night Football” theme has hints of 70s themes with a loud, brassy, energetic feel, as well as a touch of modern blockbuster movie themes.
It feels a little more glossy and “superhero-y” than some of the network’s other offerings, which is especially fitting, given that Toprak composed the music for Marvel’s “Captain Marvel.”
