Tyrrell Hatton accused of ‘disgraceful’ behavior at BMW PGA Championship

Tyrrell Hatton’s behavior was once again a hot topic after the English golfer was frustrated at times with his play at BMW PGA Championship.

Hatton is well known for his tantrums and has even admitted to his on-course behavior when he was taken out on by himself while playing in an impersonation therapy session for angry golfers a few years ago.

Would it be unreasonable to suggest that the Englishman hasn’t really changed?

The 31-year-old tour professional showed all his emotions during the first two days of play at Wentworth.

Who is Tyrrell Hatton’s wife? Meet Emily Braisher

Sky Sports was forced to apologize repeatedly after hot mics picked up a handful of Hatton’s expletives en route to his maiden 68.

It was the same story on the second day and a number of golf fans noticed.

“He should be warned and fined,” one fan wrote about X, referring to his language. “This is neither necessary nor appropriate.”

Another added:

“@TyrrellHatton is a complete disgrace in his behavior. He really needs serious professional help, and until now removed from all touring until he grows up. He is a major embarrassment waiting to happen.”

Another said:

“I’m sitting here in Perth Australia watching golf from Wentworth and I can’t believe what an asshole Tyrrell Hatton is. Using language like that and acting like a spoiled brat every time time he plays a kak move.”

In absolute fairness For Hatton, he wasn’t the only professional Sky Sports was forced to apologize for.

Justin Rose also let out a huge F-bomb after a loose iron shot. Jon Rahmalso, it was a little hot under the collar.

Hatton recently addressed his behavior in an interview with talkSPORT.

“Nowadays, people are very quick to judge any scenario,” he explained.

“Of course, sometimes I’ll lose my mind pretty quickly. But for the next shot, I know exactly what I want to do.

“People see it as a lack of concentration or whatever.

“But I’m completely focused on what I’m trying to accomplish, even if I can get a little hot under the collar.”

I do not know why @SkySportsGolf don’t just put a warning for foul language at the start of coverage of a tournament Tyrrell Hatton is playing in. This would save them from having to apologize every second time they ring

So, is he ready to change his habits?

Hatton said: “We are all human. We have good days and bad days, good weeks and bad weeks.

“One day you’ll be the calmest person on the planet, but you find yourself on the wrong side of the bed and you’re a little more frustrated than usual.

“But I don’t think I have to be any different. As long as I’m fully focused on what I’m trying to do for the next shot, I don’t feel the need to change in any way.”
