Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has weighed in on the recently settled lawsuits between Trevor Bauer and the woman who accused him of sexual assault, saying the former Los Angeles “Dodgers pitcher’s life was ruined for (two) years by the media acting as judge (and) jury.”
“I never said a word about Trevor Bauer until today because there weren’t enough facts available,” Portnoy tweeted. “However, I now think it is pretty clear that no one in their right mind, including a judge, can believe the accuser’s version of events.”
“All those who rushed to condemn Bauer should apologize as vociferously as the conviction was,” continued Portnoy, who has also been accused of sexual misconduct. “And again, maybe let cases like this play out in court where they belong + not on social media”
Bauer recently publicly addressed Lindsey Hill’s claims for the first time after both men dropped their countersuits against each other. The former Cy Young winner posted a detailed video showing messages allegedly sent by Hill.
He claims Hill sent messages to friends saying he would be his “next victim” and asked one friend “What should I steal?” ” from is home.

Lawsuits filed by Trevor Bauer and Lindsey Hill, which accused him of sexual assault, were settled and dismissed in civil court “with prejudice” and no payment was made.
Bauer, who is now pitching in Japan, said she declared he was her “next victim” in a text sent “before she even met me” and was advised to “take his money “.
After finding out Bauer’s net worth ($51 million at the time), Hill said she would try to get some of his money by “being an absolute woman to try to get his $51 million” and that she would “need” Dad to smother me.
Bauer said Hill’s AA sponsor asked her if she felt guilty, to which she responded “not really.”
All of these messages and other “critical information” were “deliberately and illegally withheld from myself and my legal team,” according to Bauer.
This includes a video recorded by Hill showing herself lying in bed next to the pitcher while he slept.
Portnoy, who has also been accused of sexual misconduct, is now publicly defending Bauer
Bauer says this video was “taken by Lindsay Hill herself the morning after she claimed she was brutally attacked, emotionally traumatized and desperate to get away from me.”
“And now we have the metadata, so there is no doubt that this was taken just minutes before she left my house on the morning of May 16, 2021, without my knowledge or consent, of course.”
“In it, you can see her lying in bed next to me while I sleep, smiling at the camera without a care in the world or any marks on her face.”
In August 2021, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge denied Hill a restraining order saying Bauer “did not coerce or threaten her to engage in sexual activity.”

But Bauer says this video was taken the day after the alleged assault — with no visible injuries. Bauer also says he was recorded in his sleep by Hill “without my consent, of course.”
“Now, some of you may not be familiar with restraining order hearings,” Bauer explained. “I know not.
“But I have since learned that it is extremely rare for a request for a restraining order to be denied, because the level of proof you need to get one is extremely low. So you can make it this that you want.
He continued: “The fact is that I have never been arrested, I have never been charged with a crime and I won the only legal proceeding that took place without even my side of the story be heard.
“And most importantly, as I have said from day one, I have never sexually assaulted Lindsay Hill or anyone else.” So I sued her, which prompted her to counter-sue me.
“Frankly, no matter what court comes next, I have paid far more in legal fees than Lindsay Hill could ever have paid me in her entire life.
“And I knew that would be the case before. But the trial was never about the money for me. It was the only way I could get crucial information to clear my name.
Hill accused Bauer of leaving her with bruises on her face and body after sex
But both of those lawsuits have now been dropped – with neither party having paid financial compensation of any kind, while Bauer has retained his right to speak out about the situation.
“Over the past two years, I have been forced to defend my integrity and reputation in a very public setting,” Bauer said to conclude the video.
“But I hope this is the last time I have to do it, because I prefer to stay focused on my job, winning baseball games and entertaining fans around the world.” So today, I am happy to be able to continue my life.
However, Hill is not the only woman to accuse Bauer of sexual assault.
In June, an Arizona woman came forward with allegations that the pitcher “raped her, held a knife to her throat and choked her until she lost consciousness.”
Bauer was also accused by an Arizona woman of raping her and choking her until she lost consciousness.
Bauer also “categorically denied” the allegations in this case.
Porntoy has also faced allegations of sexual misconduct.
In 2021, two women claimed he filmed them having sex without their consent, adding that he choked and spat on them, according to a Business Insider article.
Portnoy denied the allegations, saying he was the victim of a “witch hunt.”
