Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is one of the most exciting players on the Arizona Cardinals, and other NFL teams are taking note ahead of the trade deadline.
Clearly, Brown has been the subject of a myriad of calls to the Cardinals, as Arizona sits at 1-6 heading into next week’s trade deadline. However, Diana Russini of Athleticism Are there reports that the Cardinals are interested in dealing their star receiver? Well, there aren’t many.
“The Arizona Cardinals have received calls regarding wide receiver Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown, but the team is not looking to move him,” Russini reported. “Brown is both healthy and productive right now and he appears to be part of this team’s future.
“Remember, the Cardinals have six picks in the first three rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft. They have a lot of draft capital.
Even though this seems like a lost season for the Cardinals, it makes sense that they would want to keep Brown. He maintains privileged relationships with Kyler Murrayand the star quarterback appears to be returning soon, after being spotted in practice earlier last week.
Whether Murray will factor into the team’s future plans remains to be seen, as Arizona could very well end up with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. If they choose anywhere near the top, Caleb Williams, USC quarterback Or Drake Maye, North Carolina quarterback will definitely be expected to end with the franchise.
Brown would be a nice piece for any quarterback, and could even benefit if the Cardinals land the Ohio State stud wide receiver. Marvin Harrison Jr. with their choice. An offense with Murray, Brown and Harrison Jr. would certainly be among the most electric in the league.
After spending the first three seasons of this career with the Baltimore Ravens, the Cardinals traded a first-round selection for Brown’s services. He had 709 receiving yards and three touchdowns in his first go-round with the Cardinals, and caught 32 passes for 383 yards and three touchdowns in 2023.
No one expects the Cardinals to make an unexpected run in 2023, but they are at least playing hard this season. They’ve lost six games, but could easily be at least 3-4 right now, if a few games got to them.
Nonetheless, they are ultimately rebuilding, and it appears Arizona wants Hollywood Brown to stay with the Cardinals, until the franchise moves on to the other side.
