Warriors of the Golden State guard Stephen Curry remains absent for Wednesday’s match against Boston Celtics with a a lingering right knee injury that sidelined him for six weeks.
Curry averaged 27.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists on 46.8% field goal shooting this season, but missing Golden State’s final 18 games was a big blow for the Warriors. During that 18-game span, Golden State went 6-12 and slipped to 9th place in the NBA Playoffs and Play-In tournament race.

And the growing concern is whether Curry could miss more games as the rest of the regular season comes to a close. No return timetable has been set. In a March 11 statementthe team said Curry would be re-evaluated in 10 days.
The good news for the Warriors is that their star is supporting his progress.
“Steph is back on the field and increasing his workload,” the team told USA TODAY Sports. “I hope he comes back (playing) in the near future.”
His injury was described as “basically a runner’s knee” with “no structural damage,” with the team adding that the four-time NBA champion, who just turned 38, simply “just needed some rest.”
Another assessment update is expected on March 21, or in the coming days.

Before that date scheduled for another evaluation of Curry, Golden State visits the Celtics Wednesday, then the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks on March 20 and 21, respectively.
Curry traveled with the team during their road trip while awaiting his reevaluation. He will see his father recognized in Charlotte as the Hornets retire Dell Curry’s No. 30 jersey on March 19 against the Orlando Magic.
The Warriors’ road trip ends with the Dallas Mavericks on March 23 before returning to the Bay Area to host the Brooklyn Nets on March 25.
The regular season ends April 12 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
