Oklahoma Sooners expected to land No. 1 DL in 2028 recruiting class

Oklahoma Earlier are in tears during their “Future Freaks” junior weekend in Norman. They made four commitments in the Recruitment class 2027 and it looks like they have a head start in recruiting the No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2028 recruiting class.

Steve Wiltfong, vice president of Rivals recruiting and transfer portal, predicted the Oklahoma Sooners would land a four-star commitment starting in 2028. defensive lineman Kellan Hall. Hall, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, is the No. 5 overall player in the cycle.

Hall holds 17 Power Four offers from schools including Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Notre Dame, Michigan, Vanderbilt, Ohio State and Tennessee.

The Oklahoma Sooners have done a good job developing their defensive line under the leadership of Brent Venables, Todd Bates and Miguel Chavis. Defensive tackle Gracen Halton and defensive end R Mason Thomas have a chance to be selected in the first two rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft in April.

Hall is a great athlete with a fantastic first step. He displays good power in his rushes and his length allows opposing offensive tackles. He has the size and frame to play defensive end on three and four fronts. Hall also played right tackle in high school and showed great awareness of his responsibilities in pass protection.
