Allen Iverson mourns death of former WNBA star Kara Braxton

Ancient NBA Star Allen Iverson mourns the loss of a close friend and “house girl.”

Iverson, one of the best NBA players of the 2000s, mourns the loss of WNBA star Kara Braxton. The two-time WNBA champion and former WNBA All-Star died in a car accident over the weekend. She was only 43 years old.

“It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of two-time WNBA champion Kara Braxton,” the league announced.

“A 10-year veteran, Kara played with the Detroit Shock, Tulsa Shock, Phoenix Mercury and New York Liberty. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and former teammates at this time.”

Iverson, the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft out of Georgetown, was close to Braxton and his family.

The former Philadelphia 76ers star, who led his team to an NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers in 2001, took to social media to ask for prayers for his family this week.

“My condolences go out to Kara Braxton’s family and friends. You are all in my prayers. May you find strength in each other and peace and comfort in the love she gave and the memories you all made. I will never forget my girl’s smile and laughter. Rest easy my friend,” he wrote.

NBA fans send their best wishes to Iverson and Co.

NBA fans are thinking about Iverson after his tragic loss.

“I’m going to miss my big brother sister. It hurts,” one fan wrote.

“Praying for you both,” one shared.

“Jackson, the MI legend gone too soon😢,” one fan added.

“Awful news,” one shared.

Braxton was killed in a single-car crash on I-285 in Georgia this weekend. She leaves behind her husband and two children.
