Alabama and Georgia State have only met twice before, both Crimson Tide victories in Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide won 63-7 in 2010 in the very first meeting, with Alabama also winning the second in 2013, 45-3.
Georgia State is a long-time member of the Sun Belt Conference and, led by head coach Dell McGee, is coming off a 2025 season that saw the Panthers finish 1-11 overall (0-8 Sun Belt). Since moving to the FBS level prior to the 2013 season, Georgia State has not recorded a 10-win season, with its best campaign ending 8-5 in 2021.
