Stefanos Tsitsipas’ promising run at the Qatar Open came to an end after losing to defending champion Andrey Rublev.

Fifth-seeded Rublev beat Tsitsipas in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5 to book his place in the semifinals of the ATP 500 tournament.

The Greek star enjoyed a strong campaign in Doha, having picked up wins over Moez Echargui and former world number one Daniil Medvedev.

Tsitsipas, however, had no answer for Rublev, to whom he sent a message after their match.
