Regarding the class of 2027, the Texas Longhorns have had great success in recruiting. So far, Steve Sarkisian and his team have secured the commitment of six players, including highly regarded receiver Easton Royal. While Royal committed to Texas in Novemberhe still attends other schools.

The five-star receiver is expected to visit Florida and Tennessee this spring. The trip to Florida comes as no surprise, since Royal was supposed to visit the Gators in January before bad weather hit. Now he’ll finally make the trip to Tallahassee. While Florida will attempt to topple Royal, there is no time to panic for the Longhorns faithful.

In recent months, Royal has strengthened its commitment to Texas. He is also expected to travel to Austin this spring for an official visit. The trip will give Sarkisian and his team the opportunity to strengthen their relationship with the Mississippi native.

Before committing to the Longhorns, Royal received interest from some of the top programs in the country. The Brother Martin High star received offers from LSU, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Auburn and Baylor. Although these programs all experienced varying degrees of success, Royal considered Texas the best place to begin his college career.

Although Royal has shown no signs of changing his mind, his skills have intrigued other programs. He is ranked the fourth best wide receiver in his class by 247Sports. They also rank the star as the 24th best player in the country. Every time he’s been on the field, Royal has been a nightmare.

While Florida and Tennessee will do everything they can to topple Royal, they face a difficult task ahead. He should be a key part of the Longhorns’ offense starting in 2027, and Sarkisian and his staff will at least have a chance to show him what his future in Austin holds.
