(Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae) ○… Jang Hana (29, BC Card) was sidelined due to injury.
On the 30th, she withdrew in the second round of the first major tournament of the 2021 season, the Chris F&C KLPGA Championship (total prize money KRW 1 billion), held at the Kyle Phillips Course (par 72, 6,532 yards) at South Links Golf Course in Yeongam, Jeollanam-do. After playing the third hole, she complained of ankle pain and left the match. She immediately went to the hospital for a detailed examination. Jang Hana has had a strong rise, finishing second in both tournaments she competed in this year.
Leading in all categories, including prize money (165 million KRW), Player of the Year points (74 points), scoring average (70.25), and top 10 placement rate (100%), she was also the most likely winner of this tournament. She laid the foundation for victory by tying for 10th place (4-under 68) in the first round, but had to withdraw due to a sudden injury. Had she won or finished second in this event, she could have become the first player in KLPGA Tour history to surpass total career earnings of KRW 5 billion.
