Five-star forward Anthony Jones, also nicknamed “Tank”, has already signed with the Oregon Ducks as part of the 2026 recruiting class. But the Duckscoincidentally, are also in the running to draft another defensive lineman named Anthony Jones.
This Anthony Jones, out of Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine, California, is a three-star according to 247 Sports Composite and the No. 53 defensive lineman and No. 479 player nationally.

Jones was initially committed to UCLA, but reneged on his commitment following the firing of head coach DeShaun Foster. He ended up re-committing to the Bruins, but didn’t sign in December and decided to part ways with the new coaching staff that arrived.
Now, after taking official visits to Oregon and Wisconsin, Jones is dedicated to those two programs. His announced commitment date is Wednesday, February 4.
“I think what stands out about Oregon is the incredible amount of resources they have on and off the field to be successful,” Jones told Greg Biggins of Rivals after his third visit to Eugene. “The players and coaches have a great bond and you can see the relationships there are genuine. Coach Tui (Tony Tuioti, DL coach) is a great coach and someone I’ve known for a long time. He sees the potential in me and said he wants to be able to show it, develop me and bring it to its full potential.”

If Jones were to commit to Oregon, he would join a talented group of defensive linemen in the 2026 class: five-star Tank Jones, four-star Tony Cumberland, four-star Prince Tavizon and three-star Dutch Horisk.
