Anthony Weaver is no longer the Miami Dolphins’ defensive coordinator after the team hired former Green Bay Packers linebackers coach Sean Duggan as their new defensive coordinator — although newly hired head coach Jeff Hafley said he will call Miami’s defensive plays.
According to various reports on Monday, Weaver will return to the Baltimore Ravens to serve as defensive coordinator under new head coach Jesse Minter.

Weaver was a finalist for the head coaching job in Baltimore, but ultimately joined the organization as defensive coordinator after being employed by the Ravens from 2021-2023 – first as defensive line coach and then as the team’s assistant head coach for his final two seasons in Baltimore.
Weaver spent his final two seasons in the NFL as Miami’s defensive coordinator under former head coach Mike McDaniel. McDaniel landed in Los Angeles this offseason as the team’s new offensive coordinator following his dismissal from the Dolphins.
With Weaver having missed every head coaching opportunity this cycle, the Dolphins will no longer be able to claim the two third-round compensatory picks they would have been in line for had the 45-year-old gotten a head coaching job this offseason.
