Diego Pavia played big in the biggest moments on the football field. But the Vanderbilt the quarterback failed in the first step of his NFL journey.
Pavie measured 5-9 7/8 inches at Senior Bowl on Monday January 26. Vanderbilt listed the Heisman Trophy finalist at 6-0 on his website.

It’s not uncommon for teams to exaggerate players’ measurements, in fact, it’s quite common. But one of the biggest concerns about Pavie as a pro is his size – or lack thereof.
Pavia, who will be 24 on February 16led Vanderbilt to a 10-3 record this season, passing for 3,539 yards and 29 touchdowns and totaling 862 yards with 10 additional touchdowns.

“Whoever takes me (in the NFL) and takes a chance on me will get everything I have,” Pavia said after Vanderbilt’s ReliaQuest Bowl loss to Iowa.
NFL scouts will get a close look at Pavie this week in Mobile, Alabama, during Senior Bowl practices and Saturday’s game. Next comes the NFL Scouting Combine and the team’s interviews, which will likely be just as important as his tape and metrics following his post-Heisman explosion. may have put off some NFL personnel.

“Whatever you need,” Pavia told The Tennessean. “I will. I’m the type of guy that if my teammate needs something, I’ll be there. If my coach needs something, I’ll be there. I don’t care who you are or where you come from. We believe that kinship is our advantage, and I’ll take that with me wherever I go.”
