Johnson’s coaching career began in 2012. He coached at Northwestern State, LSU and Baylor before joining the NFL with Harbaugh and the Ravens.
Johnson’s role has not been announced, but it would likely be the same on the defensive line he played with the Ravens. That would make Johnson the replacement for Andre Patterson, the veteran defensive line coach recently let go as Harbaugh purged most of Brian Daboll’s Giants coaching staff.
Harbaugh retains outside linebackers coach Charlie Bullen and tight ends coach Tim Kelly, but replaces everyone else.
Currently, the only other known coach coming from Baltimore to join Harbaugh is the Ravens running backs coach. Willie Taggart.
