Sophie Cunningham previously threw shade at the WNBA over her salary
Cunningham launched a subtle attack on the WNBA salary scale, then launched a bold vision of a different career path. She made the comment during an appearance on a Dec. 21 episode of “Sundae Conversation” with Caleb Pressley.
“Not plan A, project B” she said. “I think you need the league because that’s what gives you the platform to have all these fans. … Maybe Plan B should support that platform (OnlyFans).”
The WNBA and the players’ union, the WNBPA, are still negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement to replace the previous agreement, which expired after several extensions. WNBPA President Nneka Ogwumike wants a fair deal that values players appropriately.

However, the league and players have yet to reach an agreement and have now officially entered a “status quo” period, with the current collective bargaining agreement still in effect.
The players would like around 30% of the league’s gross revenue, while the league’s offer is closer to 70% of net revenue. As things stand, the two sides remain far apart on revenue sharing and other major talking points.
