Green Jalen scored 12 points in 20 minutes in his first NBA action since November 8 as the Phoenix Suns defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 116-110.
Green had been sidelined due to a lingering right hamstring strain he initially suffered during training camp. After making his season debut on November 6, Green played in only two games before aggravating his injury and was out the past two months.
Green came off the bench in Tuesday’s game to score seven points in nine first-half minutes, then shot 4 of 11 from the field, including 2 of 4 on 3-pointers, in 20 minutes, with three assists and two rebounds.
The Sixers were without Joel Embiid (management of right ankle injuries) and Paul Georges (management of left knee injuries).
The Suns acquired Green in the trade that sent Kevin Durant At Houston Rockets before the season. He had an exciting debut for Phoenix, scoring 29 points in 23 minutes in a win over the Los Angeles Clippers on November 6.
Phoenix played well in Green’s absence, exceeding all preseason expectations to challenge for a spot among the top six seeds in the Western Conference.
The Rockets drafted Green with the No. 2 pick in 2021. The 23-year-old is in his fifth NBA season.
