Kentucky basketball has been close in recent weeks, snapping a three-game winning streak with a home win over Mississippi State, followed by narrow road wins over LSU and No. 24 Tennessee.
This season’s slow start has aged the members of Big Blue Nation a few years, but second-half adjustments and making timely shots have been a solution to those early struggles.

Despite losing point guard Jaland Lowe to season-ending shoulder surgery, the Wildcats have surprisingly found ways to move the basketball during their three-game winning streak.
If Kentucky can continue to take care of business against unranked Texas and Ole Miss in back-to-back home games, they could very well find themselves knocking on the door to reappear in the Top 25.
As for other rankings, Notes moved Kentucky from No. 29 to No. 26 and Haslametry moved them from No. 25 to No. 23 while EvanMiya stood alongside the Wildcats at 26th.
Kentucky faces Texas on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET with coverage on SEC Network and Ole Miss on Saturday at noon ET with coverage on ESPN.

The women’s team suffered a tough loss Sunday at Mississippi State. Head coach Kenny Brooks and his team lost 71-59 with Teonni Key remaining on the sideline while recovering from a dislocated elbow.
Although the Wildcats passed Florida earlier in the week, a loss to the unranked Bulldogs will surely drop them a spot or two in the Top 25.
Next up for Brooks and his team is a trip to Tennessee on Thursday (6:30 p.m. ET) before hosting Georgia on Sunday (noon ET), with both games scheduled to be televised on the SEC Network.
