It wasn’t the heat, it was the humidity.
The Miami Heat’s game against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night was postponed due to condensation on the United Center court.
The decision was made by the NBA, the game officials and the two head coaches.

There was a quick turnaround at the United Center after a Blackhawks game the night before, and the day proved to be unusually hot, humid and rainy in Chicago. This resulted in a lot of condensation on the pitch and although considerable effort was made to mop up and wipe away the water, the condensation returned to the pitch making conditions unsafe. When the doors were opened to the public, it allowed more moisture to enter the building, making the effort to clean the field a losing battle, according to reporters at the game.
The date of the postponed match has not yet been set.
