What is unmatched basketball?

A new era has arrived in professional women’s basketball as Unrivaled Basketball’s inaugural season began to make waves. With the co-founders With Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart at the helm, the new 3-on-3 league was built in collaboration with some of the WNBA’s biggest stars to help bridge the gap between brand building and off-season basketball opportunities in the United States. The league will feature 36 players, including Angel Reese, Sabrina Ionescu, Cameron Brink and more.

Six teams will be present, with six players for each team, with each match starting in Miami, Florida. While this type of venture is a leap of faith for the growing women’s basketball landscape, many stars such as Coco Gauff, Carmelo Anthony, Dawn Staley, Giannis Antetokounmpo — just to name a few — have already invested in the platform, and the league will offer the highest average salaries in women’s sports history.

A few familiar faces will also take coaching positions for the startup, including former Chicago Sky and New York Liberty great head coach, Thérèse Cuillère Weather.

Unrivaled basketball rules

The 3-on-3 league will feature one-hour matches, divided into four quarters of play. The season includes nine weeks of round-robin play, with the Top 4 teams at the end of the regular season qualifying for the playoffs.

Including the playoffs, the season will last until March 17 – just in time for players to get enough rest and recovery before the WNBA season begins in May.

How to Watch Peerless Basketball

All Unrivaled Basketball games will be broadcast on TNT and truTV and streamed on Max. There will be a doubleheader every Monday, Friday and Saturday night – so get ready for it all to go down in the 305 in a can’t-miss move for many of the WNBA’s illustrious ladies.
