Last week, I picked each of the four College Football Playoff quarterfinal games. With the games now in the books, now is the time to revisit my predictions.

How did my choices fare? Let’s take a look and see:

(2) Ohio State vs. (10) Miami (Cotton Bowl)

“Miami is having its best season in 23 years. But Ohio State is just too good for the Hurricanes to overcome.”

The Hurricanes didn’t just beat Ohio State: they physically dominated the Buckeyes. Few people saw this coming.

Record: 0-1

(5) Oregon vs. (4) Texas Tech (Orange Bowl)

“With Miami and Texas Tech losing, we get semifinals consisting only of SEC and Big Ten teams – yet another sign that these two conferences clearly stand above the rest.”

Texas Tech’s defense looked more than capable of competing with the best teams in the SEC and Big Ten. THE Red RaidersHowever, the offense did not.

Record: 1-1

“Indiana beats Alabama at the Rose Bowl, and it’s not considered a surprise. Imagine saying that to someone from another year in college football history.”

Indiana didn’t beat Alabama in the Rose Bowl. Instead, the Hoosiers demolished Alabama in the Rose Bowl. Curt Cignetti’s team gave the Crimson Tide the same reality check that Nick Saban’s Alabama has handed out so many times to very good but not great teams over the years.

Record: 2-1

(3) Georgia more than (6) Ole Mademoiselle (Sugar)

“Ole Mademoiselle lost to Georgia earlier this season with Lane Kiffin. The rebels suffer the same fate without him. »

Maybe Lane Kiffin was holding Ole Miss back all this time?

Record: 2-2

Overall performance

For the second round in a row, I went .500 with my picks. If this were baseball, I’d be on Hall of Fame pace. However, this isn’t baseball, so these are pretty disappointing numbers.

Semi-final matches

Here are the semi-final matches:

-Fiesta Bowl: (10) Miami vs. (6) Ole Miss

-Peach Bowl: (5) Oregon vs. (1) Indiana
