Sue Bird, basketball legend will be part of the FIBA Hall of Fame Class of 2026it was announced on Sunday.
Bird, whose basketball career spans more than two decades, helped Team USA win four FIBA Women’s World Cup titles and five consecutive Olympic gold medals. In the WNBA, she and the Seattle Storm won four championships in 2004, 2010, 2018 and 2020. In 2025, she was inducted into the WNBA. Naismith Basketball Hall of FameWomen’s Basketball Hall of Fame and had his number 10 retired at UConn. She was also named the first general manager of Team USA Basketball’s women’s national team.

Six players and a coach will join the Class of 2026, which will be enshrined on April 21, 2026 in Berlin, Germany. The list of winners includes NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki, Céline Dumerc, Hedo Türkoğlu, Clarisse Machanguana, Wang Zhizhi, Ismenia Pauchard and coach Ludwik Mietta-Mikołajewicz.
