It didn’t take long for former Wisconsin offensive line coach AJ Blazek to find his next coaching job. According to On3/Rivals, the veteran assistant is expected to join Scott Frost’s staff at UCF.
Wisconsin recently left Blazek after the 2025 season, hiring former Arkansas OL coach Eric Mateos to take over. The program struggled greatly through much of the 2025 campaign. Improved play at the position is a major key to the team redirecting its trajectory in 2026.

Blazek, meanwhile, will join a UCF program that went from 5 to 7 in 2025; This is Frost’s first season at the helm since 2017. Blazek will join former Wisconsin safeties coach Alex Grinch on the Knights staff. Grinch left Wisconsin after the 2024 campaign to take on UCF’s vacant defensive coordinator role.
With much of the coaching staff movement complete, Wisconsin, UCF and others in the sport will now prepare for a busy transfer cycle, which officially begins on January 2.
