Greg Biffle, one of NASCARthe 75 best drivers of the year, unfortunately died this Thursday in a plane accident. He was 55 years old.
It was confirmed on Thursday that Biffle, his wife Cristina, son Ryder and daughter Emma were killed in the crash. Craig Wadsworth, Dennis Dutton and his son Jack also lost their lives in the tragic accident.
According to reports, Biffle’s private jet crashed about 26 minutes after taking off from Statesville Regional Airport. As you can imagine, the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of this accident.

Tragic update on the Biffle family.
Before the plane crashed, Cristina Biffle texted her mother: “We’re in trouble.” This heartbreaking revelation was shared by PEOPLE.
“She texted me from the plane and said, ‘We’re in trouble.’ And that was it”, » said Cristina’s mother. “So we’re devastated. We’re heartbroken.”
Cristina’s mother, Cathy Grossu, said the family was going to Florida for a birthday trip.
“To think they were going to be killed on a birthday trip, it was such a fun moment for the family,” she added. “And seeing the horrible way it ended, it’s just, it’s so hard to bear. I can’t believe they’re gone.”
