On Thursday, NASCAR CEO and Chairman Brian France spent the day in New York meeting with members of the Associated Press at the ASPE annual commissioners meeting.
At the rally, France represented NASCAR and answered numerous questions regarding the future of the sport, as well as his controversial comments defending Republican candidate Donald Trump. He also commented on the current state of North Carolina in the recently passed transgender law.
Brian France on finding a NASCAR title sponsor to replace Sprint: “We’re ahead of schedule, where normally these things take longer to do.”

France expects a decision soon. Sprint’s sponsorship expires after 2016. “There is no strategy when it comes to a billion-dollar sports deal.”

Since the meeting with Trump, France has remained discreet about the state of sport. But he insists that NASCAR is moving in the right direction.
