(Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae) ○… “Golf Emperor” Tiger Woods (United States) will take to the battlefield of Augusta National in April for the Masters.

On the 20th (Korean time), during the third round of the PGA Tour Genesis Invitational, he was interviewed in the CBS broadcast booth by announcer Jim Nantz and commentator Nick Faldo (England). He said: “I will be attending the Champions Dinner held at Augusta National the evening before, two days before the start of the Masters.” This event is when the previous year’s winner invites the past champions to a dinner. He added: “It will be a wonderful meal” and “I can’t wait to see what kind of sushi will be served.”

The menu for the Champions Dinner is decided by the previous year’s winner. The defending champion is Hideki Matsuyama (Japan). When Nantz asked, “Maybe you can play the Par 3 the day after the Champions Dinner,” Woods agreed, saying, “I can play there.” » When pressed, “Are you really going to show up there?” he replied, “Hey, let’s not go too far.” Regarding his return to the PGA Tour this year, he cautiously said: “I want to come out, but I don’t know when.”

Woods, who said, “I wish I could say I’ll play in a tournament next week, but I’m also frustrated,” revealed his thoughts: “I don’t know when I will have the confidence mentally and physically to play in a tournament” and “I’m not yet confident to compete and win against the best players in major tournaments.” Last year he was seriously injured, breaking both legs in a car rollover. Through constant rehabilitation and training, he finished second with his son Charlie in the PNC Championship family competition last December.
