(Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae) ○…Heo Yunna (23) became the first player in the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) to achieve the “59 dream”.

On the 22nd, in the first round of the KLPGA Dream qualifying tournament (2nd division) held at Gunsan CC, Jeonbuk (par 72, 6,383 yards), she recorded 13 under par 59 with an eagle and 11 birdies. The “lowest 18-hole score ever” on the KLPGA regular tour was 60, set by Lee Jeongeun6 (25, Daebang Construction) in the second round of the 2017 Park Seri Invitational. She cheered, saying, “This will be the most memorable moment of my life” and “I never imagined I would shoot 59.”

Heo Yunna joined the KLPGA in August 2016 and has played on the Jump (3rd division) Tour and the Dream Tour. She placed 48th and 38th in the regular circuit qualifying tournaments in 2019 and 2020, respectively, and played on the premier division stage. She said: “My ultimate goal is to get back on the regular tour,” and added: “I want to lift the Dream Tour Championship trophy this year and get back on the premier division circuit.” In the second round of the qualifying tournament, on the 25th, she shot even and finished the tournament in 4th place (13 under par, 131).
