Two NBA The stars spoke during their match on Saturday night.
Incident involved Dallas Mavericks sniper Klay Thompson and Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant. The former Murray State star faced Thompson after Memphis sealed the 102-96 win. Morant did not play in the game due to a calf strain.

The rivalry between the two players dates back to the 2022 NBA Playoffs as Thompson, who was with the Golden State Warriors, helped eliminate the Grizzlies from the playoffs. Even though the situation did not deteriorate on the ground Saturday evening, shots were caught behind media microphones.
Grizzly Bear Guard Cam Spencer was talking on television after the game when Morant came over and made more comments.
“Tell him who was the best shooter in the house,” Morant said. via ESPN. “He wasn’t a Golden State bro.”

Thompson didn’t mince his words when asked about his interaction with Morant. He said Morant was a “funny guy” who “rarely takes responsibility” for his actions.
“Nothing deep and clever. It was really just him talking. And he was talking for a long time,” Thompson said. “It’s funny to talk when you’re on the bench. It’s kind of the story of his career so far – leaving us wanting more.
“We all want to see him out there and doing his best, but he just let a lot of other things get in the way of that. And we need that in the NBA. We need our best players out there, and when you’re a star, that comes with great responsibility, and I hate to see that go to waste.”

Morant was suspended over the past three seasons for several different numbers.

Thompson scored 22 points off the bench. He had a separate incident with Grizzlies player Vince Williams Jr. in the fourth quarter, which resulted in a double technical foul.
