Oregon brings the heat with his uniforms every week, but few of his many combinations have history like the threads he’ll wear in Week 9 against Wisconsin.
On Sunday, Oregon unveiled its “Grateful Ducks” uniforms, a tribute to the famous band The Grateful Dead.
The Grateful Dead have a deep connection to the Ducks’ hometown of Eugene: The band has played Autzen Stadium 10 times. between 1974 and 1994. Over the summer, Oregon announced that the stadium theme – a “tie-dye out” – for the school’s Week 9 game against the Badgers would pay homage to the group.
Fittingly, the Ducks uniforms this week will draw on similar themes. At first glance, the Grateful Ducks yarns look like a fairly simple combination of black and Oregon green. But the details are both numerous and aesthetically excellent.
Most notably, the brand’s green numbers and “O” logos on the helmet contain tie-dye designs. The jersey shoulders contain distinct patches that mix the school colors with the group’s “Steal Your Face” motif. Inside the collar and back of the helmet is a line of Grateful Dead “dancing bears” – trading ducks for bears.
Tied to the story, dyed to match.

Oregon isn’t the only school with memorable topics this week, however. Here are the best uniforms in the world of college football in Week 9:

A great uniform can be taken to another level with a memorable reveal, with New Mexico achieve such a feat this week.
The Lobos’ Week 9 return uniforms are aesthetically incredible: turquoise jerseys paired with gray helmets bearing a simple red Zia emblem, found on the New Mexico state flag.
But New Mexico reveal video was just as good as the uniforms themselves. Lobos coach Jason Eck and several players toured Albuquerque in their riff on the movie “Gone in 60 Seconds.”
Last worn in 1979. Turquoise returns on Saturday.⏳

Miami will abandon its usual color scheme of orange, green and white against Stanford for a new look: camouflage.
Hurricanes “Honor and Support” threads honor those who have served in the military. Details include a camouflage pattern on the jersey and an American flag patch on the sleeves, with pale green pants. A black helmet also features the school’s classic “U” logo in camouflage color.

It’s the back-to-school weekend for Mississippi Stateand he pulls out a stylish uniform suit for the occasion.
The highlight comes from the helmets, which feature the school’s interlocking “MSU” design on a brown background for the first time this season. The lids will be paired with a traditional jersey and pants combination: brown jersey and gray pants, with white accents throughout.

They did not bring Florida International good luck in a 45-26 loss for the Kennesaw State Tuesday, but the Panthers’ Week 9 threads were still extremely fluid.
FIU released its Vice uniforms for the game against the Owls, a look that adds a number of bold neon highlights to a black base. The uniform helmets include neon pink masks, a neon blue and pink panther logo on the helmet, and a 305 area code on the front of the helmet, with the “0” represented by a panther.
