CENTENNIAL EVENINGS

Thanks to the franchise Centenary theme previously announced – “Always an Original” – this landmark season will unfold in four iconic chapters that tell the story of how the Blackhawks embodied the innovative spirit of Chicago itself, defining the future of hockey for a century, just as the city where the team calls home defined the future of American cities.

From the team legends who innovated the game of hockey, the arena that shook up opposing teams to the champions who won six Stanley Cups to the future of the sport, fans will be immersed in the rich legacy that shaped the franchise and the game in general.

In addition to an exclusive series of figurines of the fan-favorite legends who shaped these stories, each chapter will feature an exclusive game night that includes pre-game ceremonies, alumni appearances and other fan experiences unique to that chapter’s history. All other home games will also feature narration relevant to chapters throughout the Blackhawks core game experience.

CHAPTER ONE: THE ORIGINALS

Presented by American Express

Following the team’s home opener, the Blackhawks will begin this landmark season by honoring the team’s groundbreaking contributions that transformed hockey forever. From the introduction of the first goal horn to revolutionary playing techniques, The Originals will spotlight the visionary players and leaders whose ingenuity and willingness to defy convention made the Blackhawks not only participants in hockey history, but architects who shaped its very foundations. Specific promotions include:

  • October 17 against Vancouver: Door Gift – Stan Mikita Bobblehead (first 8,000 fans)
  • November 15 vs. Toronto: Evening celebrating the centenary of the originals + Door Gift – Tony Esposito Bobblehead (first 8,000 fans)

CHAPTER TWO: THE MAD HOUSE

Presented by Ticketmaster

A cathedral of sports whose legacy transcends generations, Chicago Stadium earned its nickname through an unrivaled atmosphere where sound became a physical force and the national anthem morphed to shake opposing teams to their core. This chapter will resurrect the distinctive traditions born within these hallowed walls that continue to define the authentic Blackhawks experience today.

  • November 23 vs. Colorado: Door competition – Bobblehead Denis Savard (first 8,000 fans)
  • December 13 against Detroit: Madhouse Centenary Celebration Evening + Door Gift: Chris Chelios Bobblehead (first 8,000 fans)

CHAPTER THREE: THE GOOD YEARS

Presented by United Airlines

The Chicago Blackhawks are among the most storied franchises in hockey, with a rich championship tradition built on Cup victories in 1934, 1938 and 1961 before entering the unforgettable dynasty era of the 2010s. A remarkable run of three championships in six seasons transformed the franchise and captivated the hockey world – starting with the drought-ending triumph in 2010, growing into with the record-breaking 2013 campaign, and culminating in the emotional victory of 2015 when the Blackhawks lifted the Stanley Cup on home soil for the first time in 77 years. This celebration will immerse fans in the electric atmosphere of those dynasty seasons as past Cup winners return to relive the moments when the Stanley Cup was hoisted above a sea of red and black.

  • January 4 vs. Vegas: Door Competition – Brent Seabrook Bobblehead (first 8,000 fans)
  • January 17 against Boston: The evening celebrating the centenary of the banner years + Door Competition – Duncan Keith Bobblehead (first 8,000 fans)

CHAPTER FOUR: THE NEXT ORIGINALS

Presented by BMO

This final chapter will offer a glimpse into the hockey of tomorrow, celebrating its evolution through culture, technology and community that will continue to redefine the sport. The Next Originals isn’t just a celebration, it’s Chicago’s unwavering dedication to growing the game through innovation and investment in young athletes and the next generation of fans for the next 100 years.

  • March 6 against Vancouver: The next evening celebrating the centenary of the originals + Door Gift – Bobblehead Tommy Hawk (first 8,000 fans)
