Carlos Alcaraz And Jannik sinner end-of-year title clash at ATP Finals and a slightly larger prize pool than what was at stake in the US Open final two months ago.

Both players remained undefeated in Turin to set up a sixth final between the two this season. Consequently, the winner will also walk away with $5,071,000 (£3.87 million) in prize money, slightly more than was on the line at the US Open – itself the largest purse in Grand Slam history.

Alcaraz and Sinner will meet for the first time on the ATP circuit since their final clash at the US Openwhich Alcaraz won to determine the trilogy of Grand Slam finals played throughout the summer – after memorable encounters at Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

There was also a record prize at the season-ending WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia last week, which Elena Rybakina won, beating Aryna Sabalenka to claim the maximum prize money of $5,235,000 (£3.98 million), a figure considered the biggest salary in the history of women’s sports.

Semi-final victory: $1,183,500 (£902,000)

Final winnings: $2,367,000 (£1.8 million)

Undefeated champion: $5,071,000 (£3.87 million)

Double

Participation fee: $134,200 (£102,000)

Per victory in a round robin match: $96,600 (£73,000)

Semi-final victory: $178,500 (£136,000)

Final winnings: $356,800 (£272,000)

Undefeated champion: $959,300 (£732,000)
