(Asian economy Kim Hyun-jun, golf journalist) ○…”World ranking 99th → 58th.”

“John Deere Classic Champion” JT Poston moved up 41 places by gaining 2.00 points in the weekly Official World Golf Rankings announced on the afternoon of the 4th (Korean time). He accumulated points by winning the PGA Tour John Deere Classic (total prize money $7.1 million) held at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois, USA (par 71, 7,268 yards) which concluded that morning. This is his second career win in three years since the Wyndham Championship in August 2019, completing a wire-to-wire victory after leading from day one.

Scottie Scheffler (both Americans) remains in 1st place. Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) is 2nd and Jon Rahm (Spain) moves to 3rd place. Collin Morikawa is 4th and Justin Thomas, the second major PGA Championship Champion (both American), is positioned 5th. Korea has four players in the “Top 100”: “Shriners Champion” Im Sung-jae (24) in 23rd place, “AT&T back-to-back winner” Lee Kyoung-hoon (31) in 40th place, “Asian Tour money leader” Kim Joo-hyung (20) in 61st place, and Kim Si-woo (27, both from CJ Logistics) in 65th place.
