The defensive winger of the Raiders Maxx Crosby made a difficult life for the quarter of the Bears Caleb Williams on Sunday: Crosby turned three of Williams’s passes, once intercepted Williams, once hit Williams while he was passing, and once forced Williams to escape.
The Bears still managed to win, but Williams came out of the game in admiration for the quality of an opponent from Crosby.
“They have a crowded player there,” said Williams about Crosby. “He is probably the best player I have played so far in my career. They have a hell of a player.”
Crosby declared on his podcast that he was honored to have this kind of respect for an opponent.
“Hearing that of a very good player is cool,” said Crosby. “Our confrontation was all day – all day, we were going and coming, and it is a competitor, I will give it. He is not back, he continued to get up, continued to play games. He definitely has my respect. It is difficult to approach. He played games.
Williams did it with a long trip in the last minutes of the match which gave the Bears a 25-24 victory against the raiders. But Williams knows that the best player on the field was on the losing team.
