The American star Ben Shelton became the last player to target the Australian broadcasters open after the Novak Djokovic dungeon with Channel Nine.

Shelton qualified for the semi-finals of Melbourne Park for the first time in his career gracked with a 6-4, 7-5, 4-6 (4) victory on Lorenzo Sonego Italian Wednesday afternoon in Rod Laver Arena.

At the end of his press conference, an unlikely Shelton discharged the behavior of broadcasters and interviewers on the field during the tournament.

“I was a little shocked this week with the way players were treated by broadcasters,” he told journalists.

“”The guy who made fun of NovakI don’t think it was just one event.

“I noticed it with different people, not only myself. I noticed him with the learner yours in one of his games. I think that when he beat Medvedev his post-match interview, I thought it was a little embarrassing and disrespectful of this interview.

“There are comments made to me in post-match interviews by two different guys, whether it is:” Hey, Monfils is old enough to be your father, maybe he is your father “, or today on the field,” hey, well, how it does that it does not matter who you play in your next match, nobody will be applauded for you? “.

“I mean, maybe it’s true, but I don’t think the comment is respectful of a guy that I have never met before in my life.

“I have the impression that the broadcasters should help us develop our sport and help these athletes who have just won matches on the biggest scene, enjoy one of their greatest moments.

“I have the impression that there was just a lot of negativity. I think it’s something that should change.”

The learner’s interview Tien Shelton referenced after Tien has turned the head of the number five Daniil Medvedev earlier in the Australian Open.

Tien, 19, was interviewed by the former Australian champion in double John Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald began the interview by telling Tien that “19 -year -old children are not supposed to be as good”, to what your own has replied: “I mean, I don’t know what to say to that” when the crowd laughed.

Fitzgerald then followed by telling Tien, a Newport Beach resident, “I used to live in Newport Beach, so I know where you live, by the way”.

Shelton’s comments came after Novak Djokovic refused to do an interview on the ground with Jim Courier After his fourth round victory over Jiří Lehečka.

Djokovic later revealed that his refusal to do the interview was nothing against Courier, but rather Nine presenter Tony JonesWho, according to him, made fun of Serbian fans during a live television cross earlier in the tournament.

Jones has since apologized to Djokovic and the 10 times Australian champion Open Open spoke with Courier Tuesday evening after his victory in the fascinating quarter -final against Carlos Alcaraz.

Shelton’s comments come after the old pro and Australian Jelena Dokic, who is part of the nine’s cover, Back to criticism of his interview on the field with Madison Keys After her entirely American confrontation against Danielle Collins.

The clumsy interviews on the field are not again at Australian Open, or even the other three Grand Slam tournaments around the world.

They are often intended to be lighter than a regular press conference, in order to allow the player to show more his personality.

Novak Djokovic calls excuses from Tony Jones after a boycott interview

Novak Djokovic refused to do interviews with Channel Nine until the veteran Tony Jones presented apologies for what he claimed to be a “mockery” of Serbian fans.

But that does not mean that the investigators did not cross the line.

In 2015, Eugenie Bouchard in Canada was taken in an unfortunate interview with an journalist named Ian Cohen, who encouraged him to give him a whirlwind to show her outfit.

“It was very unexpected. I mean, yes, I don’t know … An old man asking you to spin? It was funny,” said Bouchard later when he was asked about the clumsy exchange.

There was more clumsiness this summer when Carlos Alcaraz was placed in the strange position of having to discuss the recent commitment of Alex de Minaur with Katie Boulter after a chart against Aussia.

“I mean, I already told him congratulations,” said Alcaraz smiling.

“I don’t know if you are sure.

“No, I mean, I saw them in tournaments. I don’t know Katie much, but it seems that it is a really nice person, so I think you will enjoy this marriage. I hope everything is going to be good. And, yes, congratulations.”

The title champion of the Australian Open Male Jannik Sinner was also taken in an annoying exchange earlier in the tournament.

The sinner was interviewed by the legend of American tennis John McEnroe, who asked the Italian if he had played the juniors against Tristan Schoolkate, before the confrontation of the second round couple.

This question came despite the fact that it is common knowledge that the sinner did not participate in junior tournaments which grew up late.

Sinner and Shelton will both have the chance to answer more difficult questions when they compete for a place in the Australian Open final on Friday.
