THE NASCAR The Cup Series returns to the steep-banked oval at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the second time this year as the regular season is coming to an end.
There are just eight races left before the 10-race, 16-driver playoff begins, and 11 drivers have already clinched spots with wins – assuming there are no more than five new winners in the next two month. This means the pressure is on for drivers who have yet to reach victory lane in 2023.
Among the drivers still looking for wins: Hendrick Motorsports stars Chase Elliott, the 2020 series champion, and Alex Bowman; 2014 champion Kevin Harvick, in his final year as a full-time Cup driver; 2012 champion Brad Keselowski and his RFK Racing teammate Chris Buescher; Bubba Wallace of 23XI Racing, seeking his first playoff appearance; and Daniel Suarez of Trackhouse Racing, hoping to reach the playoffs for the second straight season.

Elliott, a Georgia native, surely had this race on his calendar after winning in Atlanta last year. Harvick and Keselowski are also past winners at the Hampton, Georgia, track.
