Former NBA guard Jeff Teague has become an incredible listen when he makes the podcast rounds. The former Minnesota Timberwolves guard always seems to have a great story that he is more than willing to tell and that proved once again when the topic of Karl-Anthony Towns came up. on “Podcast Club 520”.
Teague began by saying that Towns is “one of the coldest guys I’ve ever seen play basketball” and that he was “in disbelief” the first time he played open gym with him . Then there was a little bombshell when Teague said Towns was “Wemby before Wemby,” obviously referring to San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama.
Teague went on to say that people need to give “more respect to his basketball game” and that he is “a one-of-a-kind player.”
It was a telling comment to say the least. But Towns unquestionably showcased a skill set that was one of the most unique in the league from the moment he was drafted. His ability to score from anywhere on the court, rebound, knock down three-pointers, etc. is exceptional and he has also improved as a passer, following a 2022-23 NBA season in which he averaged a career-high 4.8 assists per game. .
