The former goalkeeper of Florida Panthers James Reimer returns to the Toronto Maple Leafs during a professional test.
Reimer’s career in the NHL began in Toronto, the leafs selecting it in the fourth round of the NHL 2006 recovery. Today 37 years old, Reimer played six seasons with the Leafs, recording a percentage of stops of .914 and an average goals of 2.83 in 207 games.
“I haven’t had much fun for a long time. And so it was a special experience to be back here,” said Reimer one day after signing with the Leafs during a professional test. “Lots of memories and a lot of good emotions. And really enjoy the moment and just enjoy being back. It’s very fun.”
Reimer was brought in opt because Joseph Woll is far from the team for personal reasons. The Leafs did not reveal why he needed to leave and asked to respect his privacy.
The Panthers are the team that Reimer played the second more games with it, recording a .912 SP and 2.85 GAA in 123 games.
Reimer spent three seasons with the panthers from 2016 to 2019. Reimer rebounded in the NHL a little as a veteran, spending time with the Hurricanes de Caroline,, San Jose Sharks,, Detroit Red Wings,, Ducks Anaheim and the Buffalo.
We do not know if the leafs will sign to reim to an NHL contract, but it is a story of well-being to reim and fans of the leafs.
