Gina Choi, project manager for Golf VX, discusses the company’s plans to open its first-ever location in Arlington Heights.
A virtual golf simulation lounge with a robot bartender is coming to Arlington Heights early next year.
Golf VX plans to open in the former Laser Quest building at Southpoint Mall, near the intersection of Palatine and Rand roads, in the first quarter of 2024.
The nearly 12,000-square-foot business will feature 12 golf simulator bars that will allow Chicago-area golf enthusiasts to play year-round. There will also be a bar with a robot bartender, named Makr Shakr, who can prepare drinks for customers.
“Golf VX uses cutting-edge simulation technology to faithfully recreate the landscape of prestigious golf courses around the world,” Gina Choi, project manager for Golf VX, told the Arlington Heights Village Board of Trustees Monday evening (November 20). “These cutting-edge features ensure an unparalleled golf experience that accurately reflects and challenges the dynamics of paying on outdoor golf courses. »
The business will operate between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:00 a.m. and midnight Friday and Saturday. There will be a minimum of two employees on site at all times, with a maximum of five employees during peak hours and weekends.
Directors were excited about the new company, which will have its first location in Arlington Heights. The council approved two special use permits for the business, one to allow construction of a large entertainment facility and another for a restaurant offering food and alcohol service.
